I requested to have my toilet replaced, and entertained 3 service providers here. Plumb Doctors texted me and said they could do it for $185, plus $25 to "Haul off the old toilet".... So I make an appointment, they show up, then proceed to bait and switch me claiming "why we had no idea you wanted your old toilet removed" yet were going to haul it away for $25. So now, the NEW price? $350!!! Plus I guess the $25 to haul away the old toilet. Never once was I asked if there was an old toilet to be removed, etc.. They, I guess, expected me to already have the old toilet removed and just a blank canvass to come install the new one, which if I could have done all that, why the H wouldn't I just go ahead and install the toilet myself? This is not how you deal with customers. I guess all these other reviews went ahead and took the higher quote's....I refuse to reward this behavior. So I turned down other providers based on this lowball bait and switch tactic. Needless to say BEWARE of these people.
UPDATE RESPONSE: This vendor stated that I was given an "ESTIMATE" over the phone, no, the word "ESTIMATE" was never used, and we never spoke on the phone, it was by text, and here is what they texted me:

Drew can get you taking care of for $185.00.
$25 haul off of Old Toilet.
Do you see anywhere in that text about an "ESTIMATE"? These people lie. Then when "Drew" got here, he went upstairs, looked at the job, saw he had to swap out a toilet, and proceeded to tell my wife $350 to do the job. Then when I protested, that's when he said "well we offer free estimates"....when how do you have to estimate the cost of replacing a toilet? It's 2 bolts, and a wax ring. It's not brain surgery. I had SEVERAL offers to come and give a free estimate, which is a tactic they use to get inside your home, then hit you with a huge bill. Several of the people I contacted did this. They wanted to come out first before giving me any numbers. These people gave me what I wanted, a number, then got here and tried to change the number based on "miscommunication"? Tried to tell me the $185 was strictly for installation of the toilet only, as if I didn't have a toilet. He explained that some people redo their tile and then want the toilet reinstalled..etc...yet, they quote $25 to haul off my old toilet. So if that was true, why would they quote the removal of old toilet?
BAIT AND SWITCH.....and instead of just living up to their quote after I protested, they just left. Didn't apologize, didn't offer a lower price, didn't do anything, yet they claim they are dedicated to customer service? That's not customer service.
Bottom line I wound up calling "One 4 Plumbing " who came and did everything for $175, even took off my old toilet without charge. THAT is customer service.
