FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually communicate via text messages. I prefer to get as much info as possible so I can form a more accurate idea of what my customer wants. I prefer to receive plenty of photos of the work area, sketches, photos of items to be installed or materials to be installed, ie: new doors, windows, cabinets, new tile, new flooring, etc. If you have measurements it helps a lot. At a certain point we can communicate via phone and even FaceTime to make sure we have the right materials, etc.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Northern California Carpenters Training Committee. I've worked in the Carpernter's Union, Local 22 out of San Francisco. I've worked for several contractors and a home remodeling company that prepared houses to be sold for real estate companies. I've done a lot of side jobs on my own.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

In 2008 I got the chance to work remodeling a whole floor into a design studio for InCase. They had just received a huge contract from Apple to design cases for many of their products. I loved the experience! It was a non-union job. I decided to go into the union. I went through their 4 year apprenticeship program. I got to work in many very interesting projects including the Workforce Tower. At a certain point I tried out working residential. I felt like that is what I enjoy the most.
