I majored in Chinese literature at National Taiwan University, and I was an editor and reporter for Taiwanese magazines after my graduation. I have been teaching in the Bay area over 20 years.I used to be the Principal of a Chinese school in San Jose for two years. I taught at Chinese school, International School of the Peninsula, Trinity private school and Shareworld learning center. I teach both zhuyin and pinyin, traditional and simplified characters. My students range from kindergarten to college students. I also tutor professional adults --engineer, manager, lawyer, writer,doctor, CEO of the company.... I teach my students according to their need ,I use different methodology on each student to get the best result. I teach all levels, from beginning to advance. My students are happy with my teaching style. I live in Mountain View, North California. I prefer in person lessons, I do not travel, but I also do Zoom sessions. Grace Wang is a fantastic Chinese Tutor. I highly recommend working with her. She helps me learn to speak Mandarin and read simplified Chinese. She has gone above and beyond by explaining the reasons behind certain phrases, which helps me learn more about the culture and language. She is also helping me learn professional/academic language for my field of work. I have done in-person and Zoom classes with her. She is very flexible and willing to help. Our lessons are characterized by laughter, learning, and productivity. Five stars!

She is amazing! My girls love her (5 & 7). She meets with them one on one after she determined their learning patterns/habits. She was responsive to my requests about helping them with their homework and comprehension. She tailored her lessons to their age and learning ability. She recommended books and materials. We have seen a lot of progress in their Mandarin skills and she has been able to focus them on the task at hand despite their young age. I have and will continue to recommend her to friends.

Grace is a wonderful tutor. I was new to Mandarin when I started taking lessons from her. On our first session, she brought a curriculum and pointed me to a very affordable textbook to buy, which we have been working with. We started learning Pinyin and conversational Mandarin immediately, and after only a few months, I am already able to understand basic conversation with my Chinese-speaking friends. She is also teaching me how to read and draw simplified Chinese characters, which are surprisingly fun to learn, though I attribute that to Grace. She is patient and funny and very encouraging. I would recommend her to anyone!

After having spent 8 years in Taiwan, I'm back in the States and my Mandarin language skills are seriously deteriorating. With Grace's help I'm getting it back. She is so encouraging, knowledgeable and gracious. The hour flies by. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons and am very happy to be speaking my (Taiwanese) Mandarin again.
