I started with DV counseling. My original perception of such court mandated classes was that it would be a waste of time, but it was quite the contrary. Jimmy explained the concepts in a manner that was relevant to myself and others in the class. I learned to see things differently and to be more open minded. I never sensed any condescending tone, and we received good info and tips that we could use immediately. After graduating, I wanted to do couples therapy. Unfortunately, my partner did not, so I did individual counseling. I learned a lot about myself and how to deal with codependency, forgiveness, trust, relationships, children, God, addiction. What i really appreciate of Jimmy is that he can he can get on your level, scientific research data, psychological, medical, religious, biblical, whatever. He helped me to understand and see what decisions I could take and why, how to prioritize my time, and sometimes homework that would be of great value. Things didn't work out with my ex wife, but my kids and I are thriving. I have full custody of them. I occasionally visit Jimmy for a "check up/ tune up" whenever time permits. I wish I would have gone to him sooner. We all need help. They are good and reliable. It's worth it.

Jimmy Garcia has been a wonderful guide for myself and my husband. We found ourselves at a difficult crossroad in our marriage regarding understanding and communication. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Couples $150 per 50 minutes Individuals $80 per 50 minutes Minimum 8-week minimal commitment For groups, retreats and other larger venues, you need to request for an estimate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Counseling couples will require a commitment to at least 8 weeks. Homework is expected and is part of the process. Individual clients will work just as hard in making the change that is necessary. Change is inevitable, we are either changing in a positive manner or stagnant which can be negative.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I took workshops in communication, anger management, parenting and relationships with world renowned expert John Gottman and others such as David Wexler, Ph.D. In addition, I am a substance abuse certified counselor. I attend a minimum of 4 pieces of training lead by experts in their field at Aurora behavioral health. I have had the privilege to offer workshops with organizations in San Diego.
