About
Hello! My name is Ilona (pronounced ee-LO-na) and it's lovely to meet you! I'm here to offer my services for anyone seeking a pet sitter or a house sitter.
ABOUT ME: I'm college educated (BA in journalism), and I'm passionate about everything from psychology to history to humanitarian work.
My work experience is in nonprofits, tech, and startups. I'm also certified for home care (certification received in Maryland) and assisted the elderly with basic care needs. And I'm a certified Reiki Level II practitioner.
I've been a cat mom for 4+ years, and I've done pet sitting for my friends' pets. I love animals and would care for your pets like my own - with a lot of love. I pride myself on genuinely engaging with your pet during each visit, and giving them the love and attention they deserve. This is why I recommend at least 30 minutes per visit as a minimum.
I am available to house sit, and will advise on any specific terms based on duration and location. I occasionally offer cleaning services for 1- and 2-bedroom spaces, happy to discuss your needs!
I'm fluent in Russian, in case translation would be helpful. My Spanish and French language skills are at the beginner level.

llona is the best. I recently picked up a puppy and happen to have guest come in town. I found llona on Thumbtack , she responded quickly, came over to do a pre check prior to our schedule time to check out how I do things with the puppy as in food schedule, potty areas and what to give for treat and toys. She is very attentive and true professional.
So after her first round of puppy sitting for me, I have used llona multiple times now and will continue to use llona for pet sitting service. I’ve also recommended her to friends for their pets as well. Ilona is pretty much family now.

Ilona is a SERIOUS life saver. She went ABOVE and BEYOND for our pets during a very stressful time for our family. She took videos, kept us updated the whole time and gave a us peace while we were out of town. I will absolutely come back to her every time

I had a great experience working with Ilona! She was extremely responsible, caring, and communicative. Even though I booked her on semi-short notice, she was very flexible and able to fit me into her schedule. During each of her visits, she would send video updates that gave me peace of mind during my time away. She truly went above and beyond what was asked. Ilona took care of my 1 1/2year-old cat Sparrow while I went to visit my family across the country for 10 days. Sparrow is a shy tuxedo cat and she’s gentle, but skittish. She is an indoor-outdoor cat and loves her independence as much as snuggles with her mom.
Ilona cared for her while also caring for a second cat in the same space, and ensured that both pets received lots of care and attention. I had nanny cams set up in my space because I had not had good experiences leaving Sparrow to be watched by friends and roommates in the past, so I was pretty nervous.
Ilona was really helpful in alleviating my anxiety, because I could see throughout my trip that Sparrow was getting her food and morning routine going between 7 and 7:30 AM daily, as I requested. She was able to relax around Ilona after only a few days of interaction, and soon she accepted pets and back scratches.
Ilona played with her daily and encouraged her to feel at ease. She also went to look for her on the nights when Sparrow stayed out hunting, ensuring she was back home. Ilona provided me with updates regularly, and helped me to be far less stressed during my time away.
I could sense Ilona cared for Sparrow and would trust her to cat-sit for me again.

Ilona took care of my pets with daily visits where she spent an hour or more each day while I was out of town for 5 days. She is a natural healer and holistic practitioner like myself, very intuitive and knows far more about pets in general than I do. I believe her spiritual nature and calm demeanor give her a deep sense of understanding the psychology and instincts of all pets and animals. She’s well versed in communication with clients and extremely sensitive to clients needs and requests. She comes with a broad spectrum of understanding when it comes to anything that your pet is used to already and I felt very comfortable letting her take the reigns to do what she felt was best and use her educated judgement while I was gone. Never a moment was I worried that she would take exceptional care of my two pets while I was gone on a 5 day vacation where I didn’t even have cell phone service most of the time. She covered all aspects and details with me before I left and even sent messages with pictures to me every day that I didn’t get to see until I got back, and finished off with conclusions about her visits in the end when I got back. I recommend her care to anyone who loves their precious fur babies. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and at a surprisingly affordable rate to travel to my home each day while I was gone. She spent time with my pets for hours, playing with them and taking pictures so that they wouldn’t feel so alone or abandoned. I am elated with her level of care and very thankful to have met her and excited to invite her back each and every time I have an out of town obligation/vacation.
