I was a Mandarin teacher in China for over 20 years. I have been a Chinese tutor for 10 years since I moved to San Francisco Bay Area. I teach both children and adults. I teach in many companies around bay area. I am very professional. I have my teaching materials，and I also create an online "class" on Quizlet to help students review. My son and I take Mandarin lessons from Lillian. She is an excellent teacher and has a a very structured approach for non native speakers to build upon the fundamentals and learn the language. She is also available to support your learning outside the class. I highly recommend Lillian for anyone who is wanting to learn Mandarin.

Ms Lillian has been teaching our daughter of preschool age Mandarin for 3 months now. We are extremely happy with her approach as our daughter looks forward to the sessions. Youlian has been fantastic! My favorite thing about her lessons has been how I started speaking from the very first lesson! Youlian follows the official Berlitz curriculum, so it's very well thought-out, but she supplements it with extra pronunciation drills and Pinyin work which has helped a lot with my Chinese friends actually following along with what I am saying!

I have been taking lessons with Lillian for more than 1 year and I have to say, she is seriously the best! Not only is she super professional and knowledgeable about the language and culture, but she's also really great at explaining things in a way that makes sense. Plus, she's super patient and always willing to answer my questions. I always feel cheered and encourages with her enthusiasm for teaching. She really helped me so much more than just the language. One of the things I love most about her is that she's able to make learning Chinese fun and engaging. She’s like a friend, singing Chinese songs with me and sharing her homemade Chinese food! I was honestly a little intimidated to start learning a new language, but she's made it such a positive experience for me. I feel like I'm making progress and actually enjoying the process.
