FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is different from the rest. Most cleaning services offer a flat rate based on size (bedrooms, bathrooms, sq ft, etc), often competing on price and locking in a rate they can’t sustain. After a while, time or quality goes down, customers get frustrated, and they call Dream Clean. Our prices are hourly, based on time/labor costs. This gives you, our customer, full control over your price. We’ll give you an estimate, built on hundreds of active, recurring customers and thousands of jobs. If that’s too much for your budget, let us know and we’ll schedule less time for your appointment. This “partial-house cleaning” is very popular. It usually means we don’t have time to clean every room on every visit, but you set the priorities. We start on the areas most important to you, and work down the list. Because we assign the same cleaning crew to each customer on every visit, your cleaners learn to understand your preferences pretty quickly, and they can rotate through the less used rooms on alternating visits. And if you ever want additional services (oven, windows, etc.) we can allocate more time at the same hourly rate. This way, we don’t have to say no when you need Dream Clean to change the bedsheets or fold a load of laundry, we’ll just remind you of the hourly rate to get it done for you. We will not be the cheapest service you can find on Thumbtack, but with Dream Clean (and often with lower priced competitors), you get what you pay for. Furthermore, our hardworking cleaners are always fairly paid, not coerced into extra work for no additional pay.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will provide a link to your online quote via text message. If you’re looking for recurring service, we’ll include the estimate for standard cleaning and for an initial deep clean (in case it’s needed). We can then find an appointment time for your first cleaning over the phone or by text. We require online approval and a deposit to confirm first-time bookings. Often, one of our bilingual crew managers will be at your first appointment to introduce the crew and conduct a walkthrough of your home. We hope this is the first of many opportunities to serve you.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A core group of professional cleaners saw what wasn’t working, and wanted to do better. Cleaning services that: -don’t have core business functions, like customer service, invoicing/billing, HR, training, payroll -grow beyond capacity with no quality control to continue to deliver for their loyal customers -struggle with cash flow, resulting in inconsistent pay and low retention -engage in unfair employment practices resulting in wage theft Dream Clean was built differently, and it shows in the quality of our service. We continue to grow without losing focus on our existing customers. As long as our customers are highly satisfied and our team of long-term professional cleaners are happy, we’re convinced the Dream Clean model functions better than the others.
