- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most stumps range from $8 per inch to $12 per inch, depending on the requirements of the job and customer. This price includes debris removal. Stumps that are in the front yard that only require grinding 8" below ground level are easy. Stumps in back yards that are difficult to access are more expensive. At any rate, we are happy to come out to give you a free written estimate and to answer any questions in person. We still prefer to do business the way our parents taught us - looking a person in the eye and shaking their hand.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We prefer to come out to give new customers a free on-site consultation that includes a written estimate/proposal. This gives them a chance to ask questions as well as learn a little about what we do and how best our services can be used. Often, the stump removal technician does not inquire as to what the end goal of the stump area is. Sod, patio stones, driveways and new trees (to name a few!) all have different requirements as far as a responsible stump removal technician is concerned. Part of our job is to understand our customers' needs, and sometimes it also involves preparing an area for another contractor to come in to perform other services.
