FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went to school for business admin/ accounting- never really loved that- but on the job training has been a great adventure. Outside of my family's business (sold when I was a youngster), I got my starts in the trades industry admin specialty at a mid-sized trucking company. Billing clerk quickly turned to bookkeeping & accounting flex, and then one day, the dispatch office all got sick- so I went to fill in. That week opened a passion for logistics, that I am so glad I found. I proceeded to split my time between the accounting office, dispatch, and eventually maintenance/inventory management, and I continue to seek out a similar role to this day. Whether you need someone to focus on one project until it's finally taken care of, or lots of things are not quite running right- I can kickstart a chain of events that help things take less time, so you can bring in more money and beat the stress!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I prefer to, and have mostly worked with with local trades companies and owner operators: Construction, plumbing, trucking, distribution, manufacturing.. Call it what you will: privately owner, family /local/ "small" business... these are the kinds I support as a customer, and want to spend my career supporting as a freelancer.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Currently I am working on an Aging Receivables report. Lots of companies, especially in the trades, have a similar situation, but the process of tracking down payment can drive you nuts. I, however, love this type of project. I have done it a few times before and have recovered over $200k for one client alone. When you have someone focused on ONE project like this, it means nothing distracts from that- and that's just what I'm here for!
