What stood out was his ability to identify the problem with remarkable precision, simply by listening to me describe the issue over the phone—much like a physician discerning a diagnosis based on clinical history before any tests are run.
Upon arrival, Taylor confirmed his initial impression, diagnosing a no-cooling call due to the secondary drain pan being filled with water. This had triggered the float switch, cutting power to the system. He explained the mechanism clearly, noting how the tripped float switch acted as a safeguard against overflow and system damage. Taylor then executed a precise intervention by flushing the condensate drain line. When he blew pressurized air through the line, water was expelled forcefully through the main stack vent on the roof, confirming the obstruction had been addressed.
He further assessed system performance, ensuring refrigerant pressures were within acceptable range and confirming that the evaporator coil was not freezing up.
