- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Goal: Remove and rebuild structurally unsound wall and main egress, beneficially widening the driveway as a result. Approach and Results: Our team removed an existing wall (30’x 4’), which was constructed of New England Round-Stone held together by mortar/concrete. We then demolished the existing concrete stair set using our mini excavator and jackhammer. All unneeded debris was loaded and disposed of using the team’s skid-steer and dump trailer. After that, we rebuilt the wall with a dry-stack method, needing no binding components. We then built forms and reconstructed the stairs, which consisted of four granite risers leading to a poured cement egress. Finally, we installed hand rails. The entire project took about 12 days, including the setting of the poured concrete.
