I looked past their original poor communication based on their 5 star reviews. They bailed on my move and again failed to communicate in a professional way. I was left scrambling to find another mover. Avoid these guys! An update RE: Taylor B's reply aka GASLIGHTING! On April 9th Surv Lakeshore originally quoted me for $65 an hour for 5 hours with no mention of having to rent a truck at additional cost to me. I offered Fri the 25th after 4PM or anytime on Sat the 26th or Sun the 27th as possible dates. Surv Lakeshore replied on April 11th saying that Sat April 26th would work best for them. By April 13th I still hadn't received any sort of confirmation, so I followed up that day and finally got a confirmation on the 14th, five whole days later! And then Surv Lakeshore adjusted the hours from 5 to 4, but on April 15th the price went from $325 for 5 hours to $370 for 4 hours with the truck rental! WTF!? Then Surv Lakeshore called me at 8:31 on April 26 said they couldn't complete the move on their preferred date and time because there was an unexpected death and that the other movers were too young to rent the truck, again WTF?! I was cool and asked if they could reschedule for Sunday the 27th. They suggested that the move could be rescheduled for Monday the 28th. Because I had to work on Monday, I told them that the move would have to be preferably Sunday the 27. I asked Surv Lakeshore to call me back that day if Sunday was still a possibility. We did not agree to rescheduling for the 28th! I hadn't heard back from them all day Sat, so I called at 4:57 on the 26th. Surv Lakeshore is saying that that was after business hours!? OK then why didn't they call me back on Sat during business hours? Surv Lakeshore responded at 5:05 via text saying that they could do the move after I got out of work at 4PM on Monday the 28th. I responded at 5:06 saying that we'd have to renegotiate the rate as I'd already moved have of the stuff myself and I didn't receive and appropriate response from Surv Lakeshore. So I looked for other options as I didn't feel that I could trust Surv Lakeshore at all anymore. Luckily, I was able to make other arrangements with another mover because Surv Lakeshore was flakey AF and I'm happy that I did. The new movers were great, and I ended up paying for just an hour of moving time and 15 mins of travel time. Even though the new movers charged twice as much per hour as Surv Lakeshore I paid less than half of what Surv Lakeshore would have charged! I truly feel for their employee if that story about the family member passing is true. I hope it was actually a lie, and I would not have updated my review if Surv Lakeshore wasn't trying to gaslight me here. If they try do so again, I will upload photos of all of our correspondence and lack thereof. Again, avoid these guys at all costs!
