DO NOT HIRE - Abandoned project after taking $7,000 Shawn Root/Whole Home Solutions agreed to remodel our bathroom for $9,500 with structured payments. After receiving $7,000 (over 75% of the contract), he completely abandoned the project - now 26+ days past the agreed completion date. Problems: Shoddy, unprofessional workmanship throughout (heavily reliant on spray foam) Left our home in complete disarray Stopped showing up without notice or communication Refuses to respond to calls/texts The real nightmare: His poor work has made finding a replacement contractor extremely difficult. Multiple contractors have either: Refused the job entirely due to liability concerns, demanded to completely redo his work (adding thousands in material and labor costs), or charged a significant premium knowing we're in a desperate situation. We're now living in a construction zone without a functioning bathroom, facing $10,000-$15,000 to properly complete what should have been an $8,500 job. Shawn took our money and left us in a worse position than when we started. Save yourself the headache, financial loss, and months of stress - hire literally anyone else.
