FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We price every job upfront—no surprises—and we’ll always review options before any work begins. Everyday discounts (10%) for veterans, senior citizens, teachers, law enforcement, and first responders. Service/Diagnostic fee covers sending a licensed tech and diagnosing the issue. Plumbing: the service fee is waived if you hire us for the repair. This is a Thumbtack special. Large plumbing projects: free estimates. HVAC: a diagnostic fee applies and is only waived on major component replacements or full system replacements (not on minor repairs, since HVAC diagnosis requires hands-on testing). Fine print: Discounts can’t be combined, must be requested at booking, and don’t apply to permit fees or past work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We schedule a 4-hour arrival window (8–12, 10–2, 1–5, or 5–9) and send a 30–60 minute “on our way” notice. We require a confirmation that someone will be home; if we can’t confirm, we’ll release the slot to the next client to keep routes on time. On arrival we wear boot covers, protect work areas, diagnose the issue, review upfront options/pricing, and—with your approval—most repairs are completed the same day (otherwise we set a fast follow-up).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We’re state-licensed, insured, and background-checked. Our plumbers and HVAC techs complete ongoing code, safety, and manufacturer training, including permit/inspection best practices and home-protection protocols (boot covers, drop cloths, clean work areas). HVAC technicians are EPA 608 certified and all teams train on new products so repairs are done to code and the right way the first time.
