We believe there is more color needed to this story. We provided two quotes to the customer: one for repair of asphalt shingles and one for replacement of asphalt shingles, which was the type of shingles on the roof already. The customer demanded a roof quote for a metal roof, for which we did not advise because metal roofs are overly expensive and not needed for a shed. The quote for this was indeed $4,500. This was not the work we recommended. We recommended a single board of repair along with shingle replacement that would have costs a few hundred dollars. To make a blanket statement of "A $4,500 quote for a shed roof" provides no context to what the customer actually asked for. For the sake of transparency, I would ask this reviewer to please post all three quotes our company provided to you along with the material and scope of work.
