FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a 1 hour minimum plus any materials I have to provide.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We’ll usually start by chatting through Thumbtack to go over the details of your project and find a time that works for both of us. Once we’ve agreed on the job and scheduled a time, you’ll let me know where the work will be done and how you prefer that I contact you. After the work is done, I can either send you an invoice to pay later or accept payment on the spot—whatever’s easiest for you. It’s not uncommon for us to chat about other projects while I’m there, and I’m always happy to schedule a follow-up to tackle more items on your list.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned a lot from my dad, who was a tradesman. He taught me how to approach a project without fear—and how to see it through. Later, my time working in commercial construction taught me the value of slowing down to plan things right, so I could be efficient and deliver quality results. Since then, I’ve graduated from what I call the School of Soft Knocks: years of maintaining my own home and handling all the small (and not-so-small) jobs that come with it. That hands-on experience has given me a wide range of practical skills that I put to use every day.
