The company responded quickly. The pro Steve was very nice, estimated the cost to be $225 as we discussed to pull toilet and replace wax ring and possibly a flange. After pulling he came back and told me the flange would need replaced and the cost now was $630, to replace a $25 part. I said this was not acceptable as an experienced plumber could have it done is less than 1 hour. So I was being charged approximately $500+ per hour labor. He told me the have some kind of estimation average which they follow. I talked with his boss and he came down to $425, still feeling this was outrageous, I offed what google estimated the high cost for my area for the job being $350. He wouldn’t budge, so I paid him the $225 for the 5 minute “estimate” of pulling toilet to determine flange did need replaced. In short these plumbers are extremely overpriced for area and used a technique to try and upcharge me. Beware!
