Heather L. says, "Talented, organized, positive and kind: these are just a few of the words I would use to describe Chris Primeau. Chris has been my daughter’s guitar teacher for almost 6 years. Starting with her when she was just 7 years old, he has always been very patient with her, on time and organized. He consistently strives to find a balance between the type of music she wants to play and the kind of music she should be playing to get to the next level. After two years of lessons we upgraded to hour-long lessons to work on both theory and her current songs. Chris had a knack of keeping her involved the entire time, which was difficult for a 9 year old. Now that my daughter is 13 and can be sassy, he meets her with a dry humor that goes a long way in cutting through the middle-school girl syndrome. Recently, my daughter has added Mandolin lessons (from a different instructor) and Chris has been supportive of her in exploring an additional instrument. I think that he truly wants his students to have music in their lives. I cannot imagine a better learning experience for my daughter! For a couple years I took guitar lessons from Chris, also. Doing it more for a creative outlet and to help my failing memory than any sort of talent, Chris was great with me also. Patient and positive, even when I play like crap or haven’t had time to practice; I feel like he met me at my level of commitment and speed without judgment or frustration. I recommend Chris wholeheartedly for any age or level of guitar instruction. His online scheduling makes setting up or re-scheduling lessons easy, he is centrally located and a nice guy."See more

When I decided I wanted to start over and learn classical guitar from a professional teacher I went hunting for a great teacher. Before starting lessons with Peter I met with a couple other guitar teachers and gauged them against others I have known. I chose Peter because I found him to be everything I was looking for. Peter is smart. He is both a highly skilled player and a talented teacher. He is dedicated to teaching guitar vs teachers who don’t primarily play guitar or teachers who don’t have any training in guitar pedagogy. Peter is a great communicator in general, which has helped us navigate my complicated schedule and tailor my instruction to my needs and interests. Peter seems to be flexible and realistic with the curriculum he devised for me and the goals we set. Peter has a great personality for teaching. In the journey of developing guitar skill, I think he is a great guide. He knows the art, he knows how to teach it, he knows how to do hard things, how to overcome challenges, and he has a deep trove of experiences to draw from in lessons.
