I hired Renovate Ease (Thomas W) from April–August 2023 to finish my basement. Unfortunately, my experience was far from positive, and I ended up with what I feel was a shady contractor. The process was rocky from the start, but I tried to be patient knowing construction projects can face delays. Looking back, I realize many corners were cut. The biggest issue was permitting: I was told by my first project manager, Nathan, that permits had been pulled before my project began. Later, Thomas himself also confirmed this. After looking into it, I found out that no permits were ever pulled. This wasn’t a simple oversight—it was a lie, and now I’m left needing to resolve permitting issues to ensure my basement is actually legal. Thomas also said he would help me get permits after the fact, but he never followed through or even got back to me. I strongly caution anyone considering Renovate Ease to double-check everything and get every promise in writing. I truly regret trusting their word, as the dishonesty has created lasting problems for me.

We never made it further than the estimate scheduling. I had said what times of the day I’m available for a call- typical business hours. Someone texted me at 9:30 pm about calling me which was way too late for my family. I was woken up at 5:10 am because they were trying to call me- also way too early. I waited an hour and tried the number back but it made a strange beeping noise and disconnected. Either their appointment setters don’t live nearby to know when the best call times would be, or they really don’t respect people’s personal lives.

These guys are great. They were always on time. Worked quick, responded fast, and the closet they built for us in one of our daughters bedrooms looks great and was done with quality work. They also installed organizers as well, paint matched the closet to the rest of the room added trim. They were great and had it done in just a few days.
