Hello, and thank you for checking out my page. My name is Tim, and I work in public safety for my full time job. Aside from my full time job, my wife and I run a small scale farm in Culpeper county. I am here to help you by using my skills in tree removal from a prior experience in my life, and tools from our small scale farming operation, to offer you affordable quotes on your projects. I can help with tree work, brush removal, bush hogging, and general yard clean-up. We have a large dump trailer that we use to assist in our projects and help you with removal or delivery of materials. I look forward to having my family help your family.

Truly, I could not be happier with the quality of the work, the way they left our yard and the attention to detail. Tim was professional, a fantastic communicator, timely and was even willing to juggle his schedule to squeeze us in before we’d lose time to dueling vacations. We had a huge tree come down recently in our yard. After reviewing several quotes, I decided to hire Tim because of his responsiveness to my questions and he seemed very interested in what I wanted done.
On the date of the job, he got straight to work and the tree was gone before I knew it. The yard was well cleaned up; you wouldn't know the tree was even down. I will definitely hire him again because we have other trees to cut down. Thanks, Tim, for the great job!

I first contacted The Heard Homestead in February and sent him a picture of what I had in mind. When he came out in February, we had a clear conversation about cutting the tree higher than in the picture so it would survive. He even explained that cutting too low could kill it, and I told him I did not want to lose the tree. At the time, he said it was too cold and we would need to wait until warmer weather.
Once spring and summer came, he still didn’t make time for the job and rescheduled more than once. When he finally showed up, he didn’t knock or confirm anything with me — he just started cutting. He cut the tree extremely low, the opposite of what we had discussed. When my husband went to pay him and asked if the tree would grow back, he laughed, said he couldn’t guarantee that, pulled out the old picture I sent months ago, and claimed he was going off that instead of our in-person conversation. He even joked and called it a “totem pole.”
To his credit, he worked quickly and cleaned up after himself. But after months of delays, poor communication, and ignoring what we had agreed on, the end result is that our tree may now be permanently ruined. Very disappointing experience.

I am very sorry for your poor experience with this tree job, I was disappointed to read this review after I tried my best to honor my original quote (that original quote being from a photo that was sent to me from an inaccurate viewpoint - making the tree appear far smaller than its true size). Coming from a place of integrity- I offered to keep my original price, but explained that it would have to wait until I was in the area again due to the price being far lower than it’s worth. When I ended up coming out today, I did so based on your expressed need of having it done the low price point that was set, without having other work in your area. My intentions are always in the best interest of the customer and I sincerely apologize for this clear miscommunication.
