Pro was responsive and said he wasn’t available, but he would send his best man. Quoted me $250-$300 for a 1 bedroom apartment move (I only need the sofa, bed, armoire and a dresser moved and a few boxes.) It took much longer than I expected because his best man Brogan showed up with a guy that had clearly NEVER moved before. They put 2 gouges in my apartment’s wall, tore up my adjustable bed base (which was expensive and almost brand new), destroyed my nightstand (which was partially my fault. I told Brogan to be careful that the top of the nightstand wasn’t on tight and they needed to lift it from the bottom/sides). Well, Brogan didn’t communicate that to the other guy and not only did the top come off, the entire thing fell apart. It wasn’t expensive so not a huge deal, but still you destroyed a piece of furniture that you were hired to move carefully). I showed Brogan the wall and he apologized and said he was sorry and frustrated with the help. We got to my new apartment and as I looked at my bed base and mattress, the entire corner was tore up on the base and the mattress cover destroyed. Thankfully it didn’t affect the mattress that also was brand new and has a warranty on as long as the mattress pad was on it). I’m attaching photos. Then when they were done, Brogan charged me $350. I was taken back since they destroyed my furniture and damaged my walls, and yet he was charging me more than quoted. However, I’m not good at standing up for myself in the moment, so I paid it and they went on their way. After I sat and thought about it, it didn’t sit well with me. They charged me more than quoted and destroyed my NEW furniture. How is that acceptable? So I messaged Jake the owner and sent photos. I told him I thought if anything, I should have been charged less, not more since the damage they did. Jake promptly replied and told me he was sorry that my move went the way it did and was also sorry that I was charged more than quoted, but that he mistakenly quoted me $250-$300 and it should have been $500. Again, whose fault is that? Not mine. I hired them from the quote I was given and the job was clearly not done well as now I have damaged furniture. Jake said he would refund me the $50 to make it $300 like he quoted. He did refund it promptly, but it still isn’t sitting well with me. Your company, employees, destroyed what they were supposed to move with care (most of it looked like it was damaged from dragging it rather than carrying it). The more I think about this, I should be refunded the entire charge due to the damage. If I had to replace the stuff they wrecked, I’d be out $1000 for my bed base, $75 for my nightstand and $90 for the mattress cover. I WOULD NOT recommend this mover. I guess the motto is true “you get what you pay for.” I could have hired somebody off the street that could have done a better job.
