I had a chimney that needed tuck pointing and had a vertical crack in the brick. Thumbtack provided me with three contractors names. I chose Matt Buske because he had all 5 star reviews and the photos of his projects showed quality workmanship. I contacted Matt and he communicated with me that same day. Two days later he arrived at my home to assess the job. The price he quoted was fair and competitive. I hired him and we scheduled the work for the following week. Matt arrived on the agreed day and time and immediately started the project. The area around the chimney was tarped off and the equipment carefully brought up. Matt worked with competent efficiency seen only in the skilled craftspeople of his trade. The project was completed on time and on budget. The replacement bricks were as close a match that could be found on a 56 year old house. The mortar joints were a consistent thickness, the alignment perfectly straight. The tuck pointing was beautifully done……clean and neat. Matt is the epitome of professionalism. He is an effective communicator showing expertise in his trade. This chimney repair project was definitely a positive experience and I most certainly recommend Matt for masonry work.

We hired Matt and his team to replace our chimney cap after it failed a Madison, WI home inspection, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their communication was clear and prompt. Matt explained the process, answered all of our questions, and kept us updated along the way.
The crew was professional and respectful of our property, setting up scaffolding safely and working efficiently to remove the broken chimney cap and install the new one. The attention to detail really shows in the finished result. The new cap looks great and is up to code, giving us peace of mind moving forward.

Wow! I’m so impressed with the professional job he did for us. And reasonable! You can’t even tell where he’s fixed the brick! He contacted me by email and two days later he’s fixing our brick! I would hire him again in a heartbeat! What a great guy!
